IMPORTANT NOTES!!!
This emulator is only intended to be used on 68020+ machines with at least
WorkBench 2.0. It WILL NOT work on a 68000 machine, and has not been tested
on Workbench 1.3.
If you are using an AGA Machine, Mode-Promotion now works just fine!
You need to obtain the _APPLE.ROM file to use the emulation (_DISK.ROM is
no longer required, but still recommended). Read the docs for information
on how to transfer the Roms from an Apple, or you can look for them in the
other Apple II emulator archives that are floating around (For Example,
"Apple2Em" for the PC has both Rom Images). I cannot include these images,
they are copyright by Apple Computer. Sorry.
If you previously used a "hacked" version of _DISK.ROM, get rid of it. When
the emulation can not find that file, it will use a "custom" disk rom.
The program "Disk2File" allows a C= 1020 drive to read Apple 5.25" disks
and converts them into "disk image" files. It has it's own doc file.
The program "AFid" is used to insert/extract files from Dos 3.3 disk
images, and to do other things (not the easiest to use, though). This is
the easiest way to extract single executable files (.prog's).
This is probably the final version of Apple2000. It now incorporates all
the popularly requested features, and is practically bug-free (there are
no known bugs present). With my recent hiring as a full-time Sega Saturn
developer, I don't expect to have any more time to pursue the Amiga. None
the less, I'm happy to have been able to contribute Apple2000 to the amiga
community. See you in my games! -Kevin Kralian
